Okay, before you start, I've hunted over Flambeau all my hunting days. But I was flippin' through Herters and saw those Millenium dekes. They're screen printed photos of ducks on the dekes; kinda like Outlaw silhouettes, but only on a whole deke. They're high as a cat's back, but I was thinking of getting a sample. I have always wondered when somebody would make a deke that didn't look so...plastic. I don't know, maybe a dozen or two of these high dollar dekes at the landing zone in your dekes, and then the good ole Flambeau to make up the numbers. Any of y'all tried these Millenium decoys?

I got a dozen for Christmas last year. They are tougher than they look like they would be. The hens look better from a distance than the drakes, at least to me. Like all Herters dekes, they don't have a keel to wrap your anchor cords around, so you need to use tangle free line with a cord-keeper and tangle free weights, or else you geta spaghetti pile up in your decoy bag. I like to mix up my brands of decoys, and the herters work well for that. I like to use just the hens late in the season for mottled ducks. That works great. They are good dekes, but I would not have paid the money for them myself (too cheap).

wingman,I use Flambeau dkes someone gave me when i first got back into duck hunting.I looked at the dekes you were talking about and they're some good lookin dekes.Boy,with all the money you got,you ought to buy several dozen and send me a dozen and let me try them out,see if i like'em!!!!hehehehe

I've hunted with the cork decoys when I used to guide down at Fitler, and they look really good, but the tails break off and the heads are that hollow, hard plastic. Other than costing about 300/dozen and weighing about 47 pounds apiece, the corks are nice. So the keel is there, but just not in a shape conducive to wrapping your line around right? I usually wrap around the head anyway and use big scoops.
Sure Snowman, I'll just buy about 15 dozen and give them away to the chain gang crew....back to work!

If you are gonna spend that kind of money, buy the Herter's burlap dekes. 10 years from now you'll be glad you did.

Hereters sucks. As much as I would love to spend money with a predominatly waterfowl related company, their polices on returns, backorders, and ripping me off on shipping for things they never got to me on time, I'm through with them. With the excpetion of a few speicality items, everything they have to sell is advabile elsewhere for same prices, with free shipping and no hassle. travis
