I know derbies can only be run until 2yrs old but if my dog turns 2 this year in july does that mean shes only eligible for Spring or can she run this Fall also?

She can run up to her birthday and if I am not mistaken if by some chance she turned 2 on a saturday or sunday and was entered in a derby that started on friday or the day she turned 2 she would still be okay, I could be wrong on that.

Big R is correct. As long as the scheduled start date of the Derby event begins the the day before the dog turn 2, the dog is eligible for the event.

If you think your dog can win both and you want the dog on the "Derby List" for the year, then go run them, all the dog needs is 10 points to make the list and that equals 2 wins.

Personally, if I was looking at running All-Age in the Field Trail game and had a dog that was turning 2 years old in July, I would probably run them just for the experience and then totally concentrate on the "Q" and running the All-Age stakes later.

Yes, Chip you are correct to a point, it is "just a double", but it can be one of the biggest doubles your young dog ever does see.

Also, I remember back when my girl "Jazz" was running Derbies and we went and ran the Triple D/Q down at the Bonnet Carrie Spillway and Lance Brown set up a Delayed Quad for the 4th and final series of the last derby for the weekend, some things seem to stay with you and that always will.

I do miss those days, can't wait to get back to them.
