El Camino Crew migrating north???
El Camino Crew migrating north???
Are these the infamous outlaws I've read so much about here???? After taking a group of youth hunters saturday, I drove to an access area off Arkabutla to check the water. Half way down the gravel road I saw a ragged primer grey el camino on the side of the road. The camino was sporting old style buckshot p's on the back, a 100 + pound mogral dog tied down with log chain, and the head of a drake shovelor stuck on the radio antenna. The jewels that were around the car included an old man with a long gray beard in liberty overalls with no shirt, a red headed woman smoking a Sherlock Holmes pipe and speaking in tongues, and a huge (6' 6"-7') younger man with a club foot that only laughed as he ate pop rocks and pulled on his A-Team t-shirt. The old man had a dead possum in his hand when I stopped. He immediately accussed me of trying to steal his possum and pulled out a broom stick with 16 penny nails driven through the end. I backed off and they got in the camino and speed off. All that was left was 5 beer cans and a map of Malmason. I drove to the end of the road and saw two grown men at their truck shaking and pale white. They told me that they had been wade fishing and when they got back to their truck 3 red necks in an el camino were waiting on them. They stole all of their fish, the spare off their truck and told them to never fish ther again. The fishermen, from memphis, claimed they had never been so scared.
I was hoping someone here could confirm if this was an act of your "el camino crew." Why are they here? Are they crappie fishermen as well as duck hunters? Are they as dangerous as they seem? Are our boat ramps no longer safe????
Any info on these guys would be appriciated

The word is they have harassed and stole crappie from several people below the spillway at Grenada Lake. One of the Crew has kin folks in Missouri and they have an illegal crappie selling operation going on. It is very possible that it was the handy work of the infamous El Camino Crew. I've never had any problems with them but I've never confronted them either.

I bet they took that map away from an unfortunate victim, cause Lord knows, they don't need no maps to Malmaison.

Re: El Camino Crew migrating north???
I think your right DonMiller. I talked to some more people around Arkabutla and they said the red headed girl is from Missouri and in charge of the black market crappie trade. Turns out she hooked up with those guys for some local muscle and intimidation. This spring should be very interesting to anyone getting in their way....

Where'd who go?
Re: El Camino Crew migrating north???
A lot of those MO people come and plug freezers in at their camp sites when the crappie fishing is hot. Rumor was they stole several freezers while the OOS'ers where out catching more crappie. Stealing them seems to work out a lot better than catching them for the ECC.
There will be a day....
