Well been little slow behind the house this yr so far till bout 6 days ago when i first started seeing some great buck sign TONS of scrapes.Have seen couple small spikes and a nice 4pt but nothing else.Then 3 days ago i spot a good 140+ cruising the bottom but never presents a shot have seen him 3 times and no shot.Sit on stand yesterday NOTHING.I get back on stand this morning till 1145(after a great debate last nite with my buddy Mr Dewars) and see NOTHING.Head up to momma's for Christmas get a full belly take a nap get up at 4:00 head down to the house to get in the stand get everthing on head down the hill and the bottom falls out....O well i am wet now so i get in the stand figuring i aint gona see &&^%.It stops raining bout 440.As i am glassing one direction down the bottom i turn to the other direction to catch a blurr of something crossing the lane.Then they come back across its the big boy chasing a doe.They are bout 130 yds and would not stop.Then they head into the pivet hedge.I can hear them runnin down the bottom then the doe comes out at mach 10 right by my stand i hear the deer coming so i get my gun up and as soon as he fills the scope Bang......he rolls over gets up and runs 15 yds and is down.....Something did not look right Take a look with the nocs and its NOT him....I am like so &^$^ i hope i done shot that 4 pt.....I turn round to set my gun against the wall and look down the lane there he is with 2 doe at 80 yds he turns runs off towards my bro inlaw he never showed his face again. Well i get down a check what i have done to find out i did not shoot the 4 pt but a 8pt that was still a good deer but not like what i normally shoot off this stand....Anyhow bro inlaw meets me at the house we get the deer loaded but can not get back up the hill TOOOOOOOOO WET so we go out thru the bottom and out to the black top around to my road when then we see him cross the road .....Well i take him over to thier house for the kids to look at and get Brianna then come home and he crosses the road again headed back down into my bottom .......I will be waiting on him in the morn hoping he is on the chase again........Hopefully I'll be able to post him up soon.....But here is the pics of the OOOPS......

Trust me i will ....and trust that is a OOOPS i have passed better.....rule of thumb on this stand if he aint 18-20 wide with good mass let him walk.....

Don't beat yourself up over it. I still say that is a nice buck with great brow tines.

Not beatin myself up he is a good glad it was not one of the smaller ones running round the bottom.....But he would have been real nice next yr especially with the protein iam gona pour to them in the off season........

Well as of 7:30 this morn i want have to worry bout the big 10pt ....he was killed by a neighbor a couple of bottoms over from me....i heard him when he shot and later my bro inlaw called me and said he had him in the tree so i went around and took a look ...it was him perfect 10 pt 19 in wide....I told him that was the deer that i had been seeing behund my house and he said it must have been cause he has never seen that buck on any of his cams......and he said he came across the road from the big bottom that seperates our place.....as the crow flies bout a mile......will get a pic when he takes it to our buddy that does his taxidermy.....but thats ok there are more there to take his place that are bigger...just got to get this weather to cooperate and get them fired up again............

He taped out better than i thought 133in.....gona put the tape on the 10pt tommorrow

Dont have a pic of the 10pt yet but my buddy that is doing the taxi on him called today and said he scored 148+
