Ole Miss v. LSU Predictions

Well, as Jeff stated in another thread, I have not seen Ole Miss fans this confident in a long time. Rightfully so to an extent. Ole Miss skull-drug a UL-M team that beat Troy which had LSU down 31-3 late in the third quarter.
LSU is by no means the team it has been in the past due to two things: quarterback play and coaching. I really see no reason why this does not continue. The LSU co-d-coors. have no clue how to stop a spread style/hybrid offense -- translation -- the wild rebel will produce points. Jarrett Lee broke the NCAA record for interceptions returned for touchdowns this past weekend making it 7 touchdowns for the other teams. You can hang your hate on a Pick-6 for the Rebs.
However, LSU is capable of putting points on the board too. They are capable of beating good teams. They had every opportunity to beat Bama. Take the Pick-6 away or add the missed field goal before halftime and LSU wins that game (obvious over-simplification). The same can be said for the Georgia game with the two Pick-6s being the difference in the score and with Jarrett Lee passing for more yards than did Stafford.
Ole Miss has shown flashes of brilliance and flashes of Ed. Who shows up will determine the outcome of the game.
LSU 31 - Ole Miss 28

The game is in Baton Rouge and I have no idea why they didn't wear white. I bet they wear white this week...hopefully it doesn't represent surrender.

Night game? Thought it was the 2:30 CBS game. 4th quarter might be dark though.

aw heck, they moved the game time!??? I guess I have been in the marsh too long. LSU is jinxed in day games on CBS, I'd say LSU will win but MUCH, MUCH closer. Maybe LSU 38 UM 31.
Crap, I can't believe this game got moved, I hate the SEC on CBS!!!

sorry jeff. That's why i'm giving the edge to my rebels saturday. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, but LSU is winless on CBS SEC games this year. Lost to Florida and Georgia at home on CBS.

LSU's strength on offense is running the football. The Rebs strength on Defense is stopping the run.
Thus, the keys to the game will be LSU's ability to pass the football against the Rebel D, and whether the Rebel DL can get pressure on Lee and whether our DBs cover well and can create some turnovers. Weakness against weakness. I think the Rebel gameplan will be to take away the run and make Lee beat us throwing it.
Special teams play may be huge in this game. I don't think you will see the Rebs punting or kicking it to Trindon Holiday.
The Rebels are due for a big win against LSU. And the Rebs have traditionally played well against LSU in BR. So, I think the Rebels have a pretty good shot to beat this LSU team.
IF the Rebels can limit turnovers to one or less, then the Rebs will win comfortably. But, if we turn it over two or more times, this game will go down to the wire.

Crazy Joe you are correct we haven't won a game on CBS this year, and we normally don't play well on CBS day games. The one ingredient that will be missing this time is me! I have been at all the other games, but I am headed to flintlock hunt deer and hunt geese in IL tomorrow through Tuesday. Will be one of the two games I miss this year. Hopefully I am the thing holding back this LSU team!
