Well I just reg. a puppy I have through UKC. I own Dam and Dam mother which are both UKC reg. I did not begin test game till later so I didn't reg the gmother til after I reg the mother but point is they were both reg and it has been 4 years. Well I get my new reg certificate on it and it has my new pups name and then HRCH JB's Lil White Lie and then JB's Mossy Oak Madison next as NOT UKC reg. She is a SHR which aint much but for what I payed to be a member and reg her and run tests etc I wanna make sure she is acknowledged. Well after a LONG FRUSTRATING talk with Holly from UKC I was told it was my fault that I had to tell her JB's Lil White Lie was a pup of JB's Mossy Oak Madison or there is no way they would know. I told her if that was the case then why is it showing up on the reg papers as such but just that she is not UKC reg??? She replied that that could be a different dog but now that I have told her she will update her system and to send 16 bucks and I can get an updated certificate. Thanks but no thanks. Your error not mine. They didn't see it that way. She said I could name my dog whatever I wanted to even exactly to the tee as any other UKC reg dog. I told her that was sooooo screwed up and should not be allowed as to not screw up breedings and add mass confusion to famoly tree etc as I could name all my dogs the same and look inbred as crap or name each dog after some of the most famous in UKC history which is totally unfair. She said she kinda understood but it would still be 16 bucks and I should have told em but now its fixed in our little database. Needed to vent sorry. Am I totally wrong for this??? I figured they would at least fix it and send me a corrected version for free as I see it as THEIR fault not mine as what she described is NOWHERE in there reg. paperwork.

I agree especially now that grandma dog is in their data base.

The same exact thing happened to me last week. Except they told me it was $21.

She was in their database 4 years ago.
What I got from miss Holly is I can name my dog Ebons Lean Mac if I choose or any dog name already used if I wanted that they have no way to tell my lean mac from the real one. My point was when someone trys to reg a dog, if the name is already taken make them resubmit. My pedigrees from akc I sent CLEARLY showed grandma as mom etc etc but Holly's point was Mossy Oak Madison "could" be another dog with same name. I said so my AKC papers would be false then that I sent you. I was fighting a losing battle. They just wanted my $$$$$$$! Kicker was I said so by me just telling you it is the right dog you beleive me????? She said "UH HUH" and now we have it updated in our system. Go figure.

Not much of a registry if they can't track dogs that are listed with them.

Just type the registration number onto the pedigree for your pup and forget about it.
