Petition to help FWS manage waterfowl refuge for waterfowl!
Guys and gals, we are in the middle of a controversy up here regarding Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge was created under the Migratory Bird Act as a refuge for waterfowl and other migratory birds. USFWS officials are planning to restore tall-grass prairie habitat to provide needed habitat and nesting cover since their nesting success rate is only about 12%, but a group of locals has started a petition drive to stop them and get them to manage for other species. We think that this is not only an important issue locally, but to waterfowlers throughout the country. If you support managing this waterfowl refuge for waterfowl, please go to http://www.petitiononline.com/migrate/petition.html and sign our petition. Thank you for your time.

I'd like to personally thank you guys and gals here at DuckSouth for your support and for taking the time to go sign the petition. I'll make it a point to stop by here to see what's going on in your neck of the woods, and I'll keep you up to date on things happening up here which may effect you guys down South. Again, we appreciate your help and support, and if we can ever return the favor, just holler :)
