i LOVE taking pics in RAW. the freedom it gives during the post processing is great. problem is, EVERY photo has to be dealt w/ in some way/shape or form.
anyhow, i fooled around w/ these this morning prior to adding to the panic that is "gustav '08" by going grocery shopping.
nothing special at all really.

this one of Trapper i really like. dunno why, but i think it's his eye. a lab's eye (or any canine for that matter) have always intrigued me -- i think you can really see their soul if you look hard enough. some may think the blind brush takes away from it, personally, i think it's appropriate.

anyhow, i may add more throughout the next day or so........if i can find any i like

you hit the nail on the head there, man. I feel the exact same way. I love the third pic man. You can see the determination in Trapper's eye. great shot man.

okay...just wondering, but doesn't your photoshop have a raw converter so you can just open them, and if you feel like you need to adjust, then adjust? Or are ya'll using DPP that came with the camera? If you're using the photoshop raw converter it doesn't take too long in my experience. DPP is a pain because it is an extra program.... Ya'll may want to look at lightroom too if you're doing a lot of photos. It helps keep things organized too.

no. unfortunately, i'm stuck w/ PS 7.0 = no converter. can't say about lawdawg....but, i think the only PS that comes standard w/ converter is CS 3.
so, i have to go into DPP and convert to TIFF, then open in PS.
takes time, but i'm not a big lightroom fan......just didn't like it.

ah, I forgot 7 didn't have a raw converter...I didn't like lightroom much at first either. But, it is a good way to keep a lot of images organized and to convert and upload a lot of files at once. Bankermane uses Capture One. It is a software that I've heard a ton of great things about and you might find it is worthy of a trial run.

I have DPP here and it is just an extra step I have to go through. If I could just get a copy of CS3....
