MISSISSIPPI BRAVES
I heard on the news this morning that Tom Glavine will start Saturday. Anyone going?

Re: MISSISSIPPI BRAVES
I am thinking about going. I had read about it on the Atlanta Braves site last night. I am sure the tickets will start going FAST! Also, August 25 Dale Murphy will be in Pearl! Man, I used to love watchin' Murph hit those homeruns. He was good back when the Braves were terrible. I felt bad when the Braves traded him to the Phillies after he was the one that kept people watching all those years.

I heard a few days ago that Glavine has been side-lined again for the rest of the season due to an elbow injury. Probably will end his career.
There's a reason it's called fishin'& huntin' instead of catchin'& killin'

Glavine is supposed to be seeking advise from the doctor to see what his options are. It is looking a lot like he is going to have to have surgery. I think the Braves have rights to him through '09 if he wants to pitch and if they want him.
Me, I am ready for the Braves to clean the dugout and rebuild the team. Grasping old straws just isn't going to get it done. I think that upper management knew their season was done at the All-Star break since they did not even make an attempt to go after a good pitcher before the trade deadline. They just sat back and looked to get rid of some overhead and got rid of Tex.
The Braves are not lighting up the scoreboard, but they are scoring runs, but when the pitching staff is giving up 5+ runs a game it is hard to win.
