It really sucks........but if you do go there and run into a guy with a Beatnick goatee, that calls himself MS Jackhammer..............i would recomend turning around..............dude dont like no body messin with his bottle cap hunting spots................Big money in those...........bottle caps I mean.........Indian artifacts too..............

Also if he has a smaller guy with him........that tries to sell you some prilosec OTC or Viagra......I'd run a whole lot faster........small guy is super scrappy........and doesn't like being told NO........

No ducks due to Gov. cutbacks. They had to send them up to Muscidine to make it "worth while".

I've hunted there several times over the last few years. Had only one good hunt in the timber. Otherwise it's been very disappointing. Only two or three of the greentrees are flooded each year. So you need to check with MDWFP to see which ones will be huntable. At times you can get into the woodies in backwoods sloughs. Not very many mallards though. Another problem is that a private landowner near the Sunflower River has practically turned his land into a sanctuary. There can be quite a few birds resting on his place and they are seldom disturbed.

I might give it a try again this year. But it will be a wait and see thing

It can be real good when the conditions are right. You will have to do your scouting though as with any public land.

I will tell you the best spot on the whole thing is when gou pass that yellow gate after the red one. Hang a left. Walk about 900 yards and boom you are there. But once you are there you will see. No Birds.

When the weather is right, it holds a $hit pile of birds..........but........it takes tact, hard work, and skill to kill them........something you obviously know very liittle about.......so I wouldn't bother..........
