Grass question (not weed!)

My centipede has been over taken by bermuda in most spots of my yard. I am planning on going ahead and throwing out bermuda seed on the rest to let it over take the whole yard. My question is, what is the best way to over seed bermuda on centipede?

Thanks!

I never got it to work in my yard by overseeding. I just found good areas of bermuda in the yard and plugged it.

Good thing you clarified that because you were going to start a long thread with this wild bunch. LOL

Why would you want bermuda over centipede? Centipede is considered a premium quality turf in my parts. If I was in your shoes, I would use a product such as Vantage to kill out the unwanted bermuda and stick with the centipede.

Start mowing at a lower setting to knock back the centipede.

Spray MSMA to kill everything BUT the berm. grass. The berm. grass is easy to cut and is less wear and tear on equipment. Very good in hot weather also. In Feb. when everything is starting to green up again spray Round up. Yes round up to kill everythng trying to come up and everything that has come up. Berm. grass is not up then and it will not be hurt. When it comes up in March it will not have any comp. to battle for fert, or water. good luck

Is this why you see people burning thier yards in febuary and early march? Will this kill all the other grass except bermuda?
I just busted up a couple sections of my yard this weekend. Couldn't get grass to grow at all so I broke it up an leveled it
back off and sowed burmuda.
