Well got out the jig poles yesterday and headed out to see if the crappie where ready. Boy was I surprised!! Fished from 7:30 to 11:30 and caught 34. Not bad for the first time out. Going to hit it again this weekend.

Hey OMP, you did a lot better than I did. I didn't get a fish in the boat. You musta cought em feeding in a shallow flat soaking in the nice sun we had. Am I right?

It won't be long until them white perch get real hungry and real stupid. Thats when I'm gonna hit em hard.

gadwall2 I was at the spillway in Jackson. The water is lower than I like but I got on the drop off right in front of the boat ramp. It is easy to find because just about every boat is in that spot. I fished about 9' in 14' of water. Minnow and cork. I started with a jig and minnow but the bite was so light you couldn't pick it up in time but once I put the cork and straight minnow on I started wearing them out. Took my partners about 10 fish to change but once they did we filled the box.

I went yesterday too.....and like gadwall didn't put a fish in the boat. I grew up in Jackson and used to fish below the spillway at Ross Barnett. LOL.....maybe I need to come back home and fish a little.

OMP, sounds like yall got in a big concentration at that drop off. Glad you hit em. I don't fish much open water, I usually just "stump jump".
