What effects does the fertilizer have on fish biting/feeding. I have noticed in my years of fishing that after the lake has been fertilized I don't catch many fish and get a lot less bites.
What do you all think?
Thanks

I agree with you, even though some say it doesn't matter. The lake I've been fishing and catching a LOT of fish was recently fertilized and it turned the fish off.
Last year I was fishing at Lake Ross Barnett a good bit and when they fertilized it I only caught a few more fish before I quit making the drive down there. After fertilizing it became a waste of time.
I dont know how long before it will get back to normal.....

the bite will slow for 5 to 7 days with a sudden change in water color, then it will pick up.

I agree too, we just fertilized our lilttle 2 acre pond and it has been real slow, the past two times i've fished it. Bream even seem to be slow. Usually can catch as many as you want. I did not catch a single Bass, but before we fertilized it, I made 5 casts and caught 2 fish.
