I always liked that area out there. Good country folks. But more than likely you would want to live somewhere around Brandon and commute. You're probably only talking 20 minutes or so if you get in the right neighborhood. Several of us on here that can help you with finding and financing a home.

Pucket is a good place, school is not bad either. Sister-in-law teaches there. More and more people are moving in that direction. In general, you do not see much land adverised for sale in that area. I do see land for sale in the Johns area, which is beteen Brandon and Pucket.

My grandparents live on 11 acres in Johns. They've been very pleased.

Then you could have coffee in the morning with a few of us off here at Todd's Country Junction on Hwy 18, corner of Shell Oil Rd. My 14 year old goes to McLaurin High School and likes it. We live in Brandon but got exception for her to go there so after I drop her off, I go to "the store" for coffee with 10mi. and other guys from that area. Bunch of nice folks for sure!

Our shop is down that way in Johns. Good folks down there. Puckett is about 22 miles from the Home Depot at the Crossgates exit on I-20. There are a lot of new subdivisions being built on 18 and a new Elementary school -- Stonebridge -- The new Brandon High School is already out there, so I imagine they will be "4-laning" that portion of Hwy 18 soon.

I lived there about six years ago, and loved it - good people - good school - low crime - but I had to drive HWY 13 to Forest every day and after getting run off the road three of four times by chicken trucks it was time to move.

Yep come see us at Stonebridge, you'll love it. New houses going up as we speak, and lots of different plans to choose from.
