Hiking and Fishing in MT

Hey guys, a buddy and I are thinking about making a trip to Montana when I get back in June. For hiking, it seems that the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area is hard to beat, but the fishing there seems to get pretty low reviews. The southern part of the state gets all the praise for its fishing, but doesn't seem to have much, if any, good hiking.
Any of you guys ever been up there for either hiking or fishing? Any advice on where to go?
We know June is early, but it's really our only chance. We may end up going somewhere else if we can work this out.
Thanks.
Chris

Well I dont know much about the area you are talking about but I've been to the Missoula area and Kalispell area a couple of times. My uncle lives in Missoula.
As far as fishing goes, I've fished the Bitterroot , and Clark Fork (best times being late june through july) around Missoula. Also done some around Flathead, yellowstone river around Kalispell.
I've really only hiked random, back trails with my uncle. We've hiked Glacier NP and Yellowstone but just day trips, no over night backpacking. so can't help much there.
Both areas are beautiful. I love it there.I might be moving out there for the summer. Hope ya'll figure it out. Def. an awesome place to visit.

Went many years ago - hiked in Glacier Nat'l Park - camped beside a glacier and a crater lake. Caught a few fish, water was very cold. Absolutely beautiful. I would love to live up there in the summer.... Way to much snow in winter....I'd go crazy staying inside that long.........

I have hunted the Bob Marshall Wilderness. It has great trails and the fishing was fair on the Spotted Bear River. We accessed the Bob from Hungry Horse, MT. Some great country. Thanks, Wade
