Don't give up. We lost a dog last year that jumped out of his kennel riding down the road. Received a call 4 days later to find a very banged up and hungry dog. He has recovered fully and is hunting this year. Don't give up, keep praying, and hopefully someone will call.

I don't mean to be an "turd-cutter" but why the hell would someone leave a dog in an open truck bed and not at least leave someone to watch the dog????? My lab rides inside the truck and is locked up inside with me watching the truck or someone stays with her if I can't. I hate seeing people riding down the damn road at 60 mph and the dog isn't at least in a crate. Sheeesh!! Do you really value your dog???????

Me too. EVERYTIME. PERIOD.
When my dog was a pup, I was riding around at Hambone's father in 'law's place, and she jumped out of the back of my pickup. Not once, but twice.
I should have learned my lesson the first time, but I DAMN sure learned it the second time. Luckily I was in the woods and going slow.
John, I'll keep my eyes peeled, I live near there.
dont leave room

don't leave room for error....just as you don't trust buddies to bring you a shotgun and shells; you take your own. Same goes for dog crates...don't trust forgetfull $#!+ to bring one. Take your own, or, DO THE DOG A FAVOR, and leave her at home. Piss on people and their guilty conscience. I feel sorry for the dog, because the same buttwipe who would heist a dog is the same who is gonna fly up and down the highways with her unsafe in the bed of the truck. Poor folks? naw, naw, naw......
Poor dog!
This is one situation where "learning from your mistakes" isn't wanted. You SHOULD NOT HAVE TO learn from your mistakes in this matter. Hell, do you let your kids swim in gator ponds to see if they can use life jackets to keep from getting swallowed up? Uhhhhh, NO..... oh well, you learned your "lesson". Now bring on the next kid to see if he fares better luck. Sheeeeeeezzzz........

Dog found and returned to owner. He learned his lesson this time. A nice lady picked the dog up and took her home. SHe saw the lost add placed in the paper and gave him a call.
