Float trip locations

Postby deltahunter49 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:44 pm

i know this question has been asked before but wheres a good place to kayak or canoe? Looking for some semi-rough waters no raging rapids but some falls and a fast pace flow would be fun. Floated the okatoma down near hattiesburg and had a blast.

Okatoma and Bogue Chitto are pretty good as far as being in state, just depends on water levels.
Gotta go at the right time.

We used to do Bear Creek in Alabama when we were in high school. We would use the sit-on top kayaks they had. There was a small waterfall where we would put in.

Agreed

Buffalo River in Lobelville/Linden, TN is ok too, but no rapids nor is it very fast. A good drinking river though.

Started out fun, then I sunk my canoe and lost all my beverages!! It was a big step up from the Okatoma. It would be better if you floated it with a kayak. Place was awesome, and the camp grounds were fun! :D just my 2
