any elected officials on here?

i am currently serving on my 4th term in office and wondered if any others has held public office? state, county, or city. seems everyone has opinions that they would do things different and just wondered why more has not got involved or tried too. all it takes is to put your name in the hat and recieve 51% of the vote... i think everyone should hold office for a day or two. one thing about an election is you will find out just how many friends you got or think you had...but it is truly a humbling feeling to recieve the majority of the votes in your county... i'm sure some of you have concidered it...

Judge, most of the people on here couldn't get past the criminal background check!
Public office is definitely in the works for me when I retire. I just don't have the time to devote to it right now.

I served two terms as my county's coroner, but didn't seek re-election due to other job demands.

Served 9 years on the County School board, until we had an open forum meeting with all the parents and teachers, one year....a big, fat, black, greasy, blue-gum, skillet-head, loud-mouthed mama stood up, and pointed her finger at me and the other white board members, and said "You'n is white, and ain't got no bidness, tryin' ta run our'n black schooz. You'n daun care 'bout no black chirren.".....(like this was a great career choice for me.)
I stood up, and said, "You are exactly right....ya'll run 'em."
I walked out, resigned, and have NO regrets....I really miss the pay, however....$37 bucks a month. LOL

I take my hat off to elected officials. Most of them are very honest dedicated people. I ran for state representative twice and lost. I can tell you from experience when the votes aren't coming on election night that you thought you would get, it is hard to take. I may try again some day. I would recomend to every one who has the desire to go for it. I wouldn't take anything for the experience.
