I went Friday afternoon to pick up some dekes and two of my fields were slap full of pintails and mallards. I contemplated going back the next am.

I went yesterday to my hole that for the record, produced 7, thats right seven ducks this year. We did not get enough rain to hold any and what millet came up the deer and geese ate it before water got on it. Well, yesterday it was slap full of water, jumped up about 150 mallards, and a few gadwall. Just my luck!!!!!! well maybe they will remember it for next year and maybe we can get some WWWWWAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I genuinely appreciate all the trouble and expense you fellas go to, to provide such good nutrition for the ducks. Maybe it'll pay off for all of us, next year.

.......and when your duckhole freezes solid, I'll be awaiting the arrival of those well-nourished ducks where 'I' can benefit from your efforts, too. Nice fat mallets!

You are welcome sir...

Watched a duck hole all year. Saw 3 woodies throughout the hole season. Me and my brother where riding through and the ducks blackend the sky. Pist..... Yep..

Mostly gads, but a few greenies mixed in. Saw the buck i'd been hunting all season to boot.
If I don't do it, I ain't gettin nun.......So i'm doing it

Rob, could the cranes I saw Sunday have been the Mississippi variety? I couldn't tell much through the binoculars......they were pretty high.......other than they were gray......'couldn't really distinguish any markings. I spotted them around the Mayhew Junction Goose Club.

Wow! Lots of rare sightings around the Goose Club this year!

I don't know much about cranes, Randy, but Nick Winstead at the Museum could help you.

Anat,

There was a good # of sandhills in the Reelfoot area the last week of the duck season, at least a couple thousand. I don't know if those are still up there or not, they sure are big.....

Yeah, these were just floating around up there like the white pelicans we usually see - no particular place to go.....just around in circles. Thanks for the input Rob and Kelly.

There HAVE been some unusual 'sightings' around the Goose Club, this year. Right now we have 4 snow geese located. We're trying to pattern them so we can go eradicate them.......they are hanging around with some local honkers right now - must be 'upper-eschelon' snows to be in our area.
