Im Spoiled

Postby hatchdaddy » Sun Feb 03, 2008 8:17 pm

Just wanted to post a few deer from back home. Im spoiled due to the fact these are the type deer I grew up seeing. It makes it hard to hunt anywhere else and appreciate it. I remember as a kid seeing deer like this when I would ride down the road. Can remember then also coming in the yard late at night.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Don't hate me, Ive only seen deer like this, never killed any of them.

Its a blessing and a curse, blessing is I have been fortunate enough to have grown up around big deer.

Curse is makes it hard to appreciate anywhere else you know.

Have had big deer feeding under a pear tree in our yard.

Just wish I had a few of these on my wall.

Silver linning is however that we can grow deer here in Mississippi to come with the best of them in my opinion. If we could just let them grow.

Couple of questions. Were these pics taken after the season and what kind of feed are these deer chowing down on? Based on the time stamp on these pics, the big boys only come out and play at night.

well since you would feel bad shooting these deer I will be glad to come hunt a couple days next year. I wouldnt mind having a deer that big hanging on the wall. Thats some good deer, and you said they are eating dairy pellets thats probably why they look so healthy and grow big horns.

I agree with you. The right land, genetics, and management in Ms will compete with with any midwest state as far as size goes. good luck getting you one of those. If you need someone to cull that double drop, I could probably take time out of my busy schedule.... :) :)
