My Race to the Duck Hole...

My ole man and I were eating at a local restaurant last night when a group of about 6 sat right behind us. They had been hunting that same day with little success. Dad and I killed 1 shy of a two man limit and a buddy of his was asking about it. This was a close friend and we disclosed many details. Well I was unloading my boat this morning with Dad and looks to be another truck behind us. Well the driver looked very familiar along with the other three. Then it hit me. Same guys from the restaurant.

Woo hoo...Well I figured it could be a longshot coincidence so I continued with prepping the boat. 30 minutes later I have cranked the 30 Mercury to full throttle to pull away from these fools who have decided to follow my every move. There is a small creek that runs into the hole we were hunting and I knew if they followed me in there they were for sure following us to find the hole. Of course they do. Eventually the guy catches up and has the damn nerve to introduce himself as the guy from the restaurant and adds that they would like to hunt with us. My dad being a polite man told him sorry but the hole is just too small for six people and how about another time. I bit my tongue. My question is this, in the event that my father not been there. What should I have done?? What would you have said?
Sorry but I had to vent...Was very pissed that I sweat myself to death in August scouting holes to have some Tennessean follow my every step this morning.

I have noticed that the younger crowd is full of dumbsharts that were NOT brought up with respect for other hunters as well as the resources. It is sad that these days you must not even talk of your duck hole among friends at the greasy spoon.
That being said I am 27 years old and have noticed the lack of respect and common courtesy shown by my generation of hunters. Dumb youngsters that don't even know to use bionics to scout but just ride in the boat scaring off all the birds on the water, skybusting, leaving deeks out over night, just not being a "good hunters." It's like know one taught them what the right way the hunt is. this problem will get more and more ridiculous in years to come. There is nothing we can do to combat the problem, I call these dumbarses "rubberheads."

shoulda started out in the other direction...then stopped and when they got close ask "Damn ya'll know your way around cause I'm lost!! Is it alright if I just follow you guys?"
Down here in the south delta you aint got to worry about that...or ducks to shoot for that matter.

actually...you should've done the same thing your dad did.... you've been busted blabbing about where you killed ducks on public land, don't complicate it for being rude.... sounds like they did the right thing too...they could've just thrown out their dekes 20 yards away and you coulda had a "duck hole standoff"....
duck hunting public land has made me a better liar thats for sure....
