Need some help with my labs

Postby Skeeter » Wed Jan 23, 2008 8:19 pm

This is probably not an uncommon question, but I have 2 labs 75-90 lbs that live in my fenced in back yard that is about three quarters of an acre. We bought our house in July and the dogs have finally made their mark in the back yard with the 'trails' ......now, I can handle around the fence, but now I have trails going all through the yard.....it literally looks like a tic tac toe board.....it doesnt help much that I have st augustine grass which is very sensitive either.....my question is, how can I get the trails out of the yard....I thought about zyosia (sp) grass, but I am not sure if that will work......anyone have any suggestions?

I'd try concrete!!

Build you a concrete kennell in your back yard with a fence around it. You can let them out on a daily basis but it would keep your yard clean of crap and your child will be able to run around in the yard at the same time. You can build it big and nice enough for them to move around. Don't know what the neighbors would think though!

Zoysia is heat sensative, on hot summer days you will have to syrringe the yard and trust me you dont want to do that.

Bring um in Don. If like mine, they will keep your house spotless behind the little one. Besides your backyard probably looks terrible from all those shank divot sandwedge practice shots :D

Hadnt seen you in canton in a long time.....broke 70 three times last summer out there.....including 6 rounds of 71.......we need to get up for some wing shooting and golf....

Small fence.. My stay in a section offed part of the yard to keep the trails and hole and landmines seperated from the rest of the yard and the 2yo shoes..

i have two labs that are 13 months, same scenario - good luck. you pretty much can kiss your backyard goodbye unless you are willing to lock them in a pen most of the time
