Been hunting with him around that area for a long time. Both he and my cousin were very lucky.they were only in the water for about 5 minutes.Lost 1 browning gold and few other things ,but it sure coulda been a lot worse. My uncle is 68 yrs old.He is ok now but a little pissed about losing that browning. like I said thanks a whole lot for the helping hand.

We used to have a big magnet at the shop. It has retrieved a gun or two in its day. If they marked the spot, maybe we can take that magnet over there and find the gun (if the magnet is still around).

PM me for my number if they think they can find the spot again.

I know that accidents are unpredictable usually, and I'm glad he's okay.

A floating gun case would've sure helped out.

Out of curiosity, how deep could a metal detector work over water? Once sensitivity is adjusted?

I guess if you pull up that gun uncased, you'll have to write them a ticket, won't you?

I hope not.

14' boat ,not very wide .he said he slowed down to make a turn and the next thing he knew was that water was coming over the front.couz is about 320# he was in the front with dog.he thinks he must have hit a wave just "right" and water started coming over the front.he is gonna go look for his gun again fri. I think.I would come down there with him but I am working alot of overtime and just can't make it.maybe in a week or 2, I can.not sure if the gun will be worth saving by then.
the boat is kinda small but there have 3 of us in it before and never felt any danger

The gun will probably last a week or 2 before it is a rust bucket.

Glad everyone is ok.
