Guys my female is going on 2 years old and I have been trying to breed her with my 2 year male but she doesn't seem to want to come into heat. I don't know if I need to take to the vet and get her checked out or just let things happen. Do I need to separate them to see if that might trigger something or what? Any advice would help. well my Jewel (black lab) is 2 and i wouldn't ever think about breeding her until she's three or four! hips aren't developed enough yet. but if your going to try I would keep them seperated for a while. just my $.02.

just be patient, she will come in on her own one of these days... my ole yellow mama dog was three before she shoed heat... bless her heart, the slut, has been productive for the last 13 years... told her she was retired, but she keeps on ticking....
