I was just curious. I've heard his named mentioned as a possible replacement and was wondering if he would really be interested or if people were just blowing smoke. If Bigwater's figures are correct, I'm astounded. I had no idea he made that much. I was figuring somewhere around the 6 to 700 range. And by the way, I know Bama sucks right now. That's exactly why I asked the question. However, I don't think any Ole Miss fan should run their mouth about their sports program, especially when it comes to basketball. The only thing yall have competed in for the past several years was the contest to see who could have the most buttons on a 3 piece suit, which by the way, Rod Barnes staff won going away.

Get to work CP. As many months as you've missed this year, checking msducks is the last thing you need to be doing.

mistake.. i think its closer to the 600,000 to 700,000. states coach makes around $900,000.

as for kennedy leaving.. i don't think he's going anywhere. he's home and he's rich..

I would agree, bigwater, for the most part except, he played college ball in Alabama and I believe he coached at UAB for a while so it's not like it would be foreign to him. Also, Gottfried is making 1.2 million a year--that's close to double what Kennedy is paid which I would think be enough for him to at least listen. Also, at the risk of offending the Ole Miss nation, I'll say this. Alabama is a better program with a better chance of competing on a national level. I don't mean this as a slight to Ole Miss, it's just the recruiting base is limited, facilities aren't up to par, and the history of competitive teams doesn't exist. People tend to forget that other than Florida's unparalleled success in the past several years, Alabama is by far the 2nd best basketball program in the conference. By no means am I saying Alabama is a dynasty, I'm just saying if you look at the body of work in the last 25 years, save the David Hobbs era, Alabama is head and shoulders above everyone. Now I know you're gonna come back with the whole Arkansas thing, and while they're a GREAT program, remember they didn't join the SEC until fairly recently.

I don't have a dog in the hunt, but come on. When was the last time Bama made it to the final four? LSU made it two years ago. State made it 12 years ago. How about Kentucky which has at least one national title in the last 12 years and several Elite 8 and final four appearances. Bama is at best a distant 4th best team in the conference. That is hilarious and quite typical of a Bama fan. Take off the crimson glasses man.

tuscaloosahunter - Kennedy came to Ole Miss because of growing up in Louisville, Ms. He makes more than $600,000 - it is in the $800,000 range with a raise coming this year. Facility wise Ole Miss is in the process of spending $10 million on a pratice facility for him with more to come. So they are spending the money in that aspect. And as far as Bama being a better basketball school, I dont buy into that. Both have had about the same amount of success in the past twenty years. Now Bama in football has a name and can get a coach but as far as SEC basketball is concerned, I think only Kentucky and Florida have that reputation.
