Yes, go on vacation for the next three weeks? You're supposed to be saving up the days and taking them during duck season anyway. Aren't you?

I had a office there. Its an old railroad town. Don't ask for sweet tea or you'll get berry tea, but it is really not much to do there. Philly will take you a week to go through.

Ohh great, they will love my country booty.

I better get my fill of sweet tea and corn bread before I head. I ain't much for sight seeing of any kind, unless it was the grand canyon or something.
I was wanting to do some kinda of hunting. I was wondering if there is any kind of hunting in this area.

PA has a late resident goose season. Research it, hit some "national waterfowl forums" and make some friends quickly.

PS. Go see the liberty bell, the museum (passenger pigeons) and eat dinner at the Old Bookbinders Original. And don't let anyone tell you MS or teh South has the market cornered on bluegums - you'll learn otherwise in that part of the world!

I will be in Philly in a couple weeks. Bitter cold most of the time, take some overshoes. There are lots of good places to eat, depending on where you are in the city. Beware of a breakfast dish called "scrapple."

Go out to Chesterfield go to some of the Micro Breweries if ya like beer. Take a trip out to Intercourse PA (Amish town) Go to the decoy shop ( got some great decoys ) and the smokehouse shop( for some of the best jerky you'll ever find).Go out to valley forge and take a camera you will not believe all the deer you will see.Take a fly rod fish the creeks and rivers. Try to find someone to Canada hunt with they are everywhere up in the area.

Greg,
Hate to hear your season is over................ but I bet your son is even more heart broken.
I enjoyed the hunt/scouting last week. Be careful in PA.

I had to go to Chicago a few years ago during winter. I took my duck drake 4-1 waterfowl jacket and walked around Nieman Marcus scaring the locals. Got in the elevator with some uppity local, jewels on, floor length fur coat, and just tried to start up a conversation. She freeked and went and got a security guard.
He laughed and told me to quit messing with the locals.

that is funny right there.
I am sure they will love my clothing. I ain't got any regular warm clothes or coats. It is all hunting stuff. So I am sure they will love to see me in my camo parka. I might even pull out the new camo face mask my son got me for Christmas.
Wonder what they would say if I walked around in my waders, heck that is the warmest chit I own
