I spoke to a buddy yday that said some friends of his were duped recently by Byron barret on some guided hunts....SHOCK.......He did get out of jail recently and does have ads in the vicksburg and jackson papers.......do not go with BYRON BARRETT ot DELTA LAND MANAGEMENT....they are frauds!!!!!!


I can say this.....SOB still owes me 225.00 from 1998!!!!!

What is his story? Briefly.

Feed, he has been scamming people on leases for as long I have have been on the site (4 seasons 3+ years). Takes their money and runs, usually never had leasing rights to the fields the fellas think they are getting.

about the only thing good this guy did was introduce me to a guy from vicksburg who i now consider a ggod friend.....when all that took place I hunted this guy down and went to his house....he put me with this guy i know now(to keep me from going to the law). Byron comes across as a really nice guy....he just has one small problem.....he is a worthless sack of #$@%

I thought I was the only guy he got five years ago. YES FIVE years ago. And I am still hacked off. I hear he is a big boy, but I would like a try at him. Last I heard he was in Dry Fork La.

yeah, ive heard some tales about him. as for being big, that ODB used to wrastle in one of them maypop wrastlin federations. as i recall, when he come out to his alma mater, he got his self ripped a new one, then the guy kicked a mud hole in the old one and stomped it dry. what a hoot.

anyhow, gotta watch oput for those deals of a lifetime. if its too good to be true, it usually is.

Thanks very much for this post. I've only been on the forum for a short while and had never heard of this guy. Three of my buddies and myself mailed our deposits to this dickhead yesterday. Thanks to your post (and everybody elses opinions, also), we stopped payment on our checks as of 1:00 today. I tell ya, there are some sorry individuals in this world. Its great to be able to communicate with such good and knowledgable people as there are on this forum. Everyone has an opinion, but when people such as yourself, Judge JB, and many of the rest stress their points, a man is wise to listen. Thanks again.

I sent this guy a wire yesterday for a guided hunt, now I'm wondering if I will be tresspassing or if he will really show up to even go. Boy I really feel screwed. I was on here yesterday morning but this is the first time I have seen this post

We responded to a offered lease of his about 4 years ago, and went to meet him on 61 north of V-burg one Saturday morning in September. We got to the meeting place beside the hwy and there were several guys there loading some hog dogs in their truck near a corn field. We told one of them why we were there and he informed us that we were on his land, and we had been scammed...I just hope someone catches up with this crook and "Does unto him" what he deserves....

gh what happened when your buddy's got @#$* on did the show up or what? does this guy even have a place to hunt? boy I won't ever do this again this really sux. I guess that's what happens when you try to go a cheap route instead of paying the higher price for well known guide. My season is f@$$#ed
