Mine too. I have been walking him up the river everyday for the past couple of weeks to check on the ducks. You can sure tell a difference in his attitude.

Jack can't wait either. The weather changes, and he's lookin' for the truck! BTW - nice pics.

PETE has been running around with half a bonner on since the last cool snap.
These last couple of days makes him look like someone thumped him in the balls.

Mine is more worried about being with his "brother" than anything else! Them two dogs can't sleep unless they are together on the bed, the doberman will pace and the lab will whine, saddest thing I've ever seen!

My bitch was born on March 1, 2006. She has papers but was given to me for free by another member of my club. I spent a total of about 10 hours over the months of May thru November with simple obediance and retrieving. She went on her first trip last year in December and our hole had about 2 inches of ice on it. We shot one duck and it hit the ice about 30 yrds away. When she went out the door she hit the ice and it scared her and she ran back in the blind. I was afraid she was ruined for good. Four days later we killed 17 and she picked up all ducks with no problem. Over the next 10 days she picked up a total of 114 ducks. After that first day I felt like my girl had graduated from college. She picked up over 250 ducks last year and I was impressed how natural it came to her. As I said, I only spent around 10 hours total training. Hope you have the same success I did with my girl. Good luck and good hunting.

This will be her first season too. She's so fired up, she wanted to find some public honey holes near Cleveland.

Excited

Postby BrettG » Fri Nov 16, 2007 6:36 am

My little girl is taking care of pups right now but managed to fetch the 3 ducks I left in the back of the truck. This morning I let her out to go to the bathroom, what a suprise, I was checking on the pups and she came right back to the door with a duck did this 3 times. She is going to be upset next week when she has to sit it out.
