Here's a still shot off video.

That's Anne's head (bill of her cap) sticking-up out of her ground blind.

This is after the second group landed.......which started the 30-minute tornado

Image

Before it was all over, she had around 1200 birds feeding within 20 yds of her (before they started feeding away from us - into the wind) - then there were around 6 - 10K on the ground (within 100yds of us) before the Osprey came along and ran them up. It was non-stop ducks funneling into that spot for about 30 minutes - That was worth the trip up there, and one of the main reasons we go - to get in a tornado, if we can.

If I don't kill another duck all year - I'm OK with that......long as I can replay the video every now and then.

If about 20 years ago someone had suggested to me "dry field hunting" I would have laughed at such nonsense.

I'm going to have give it another try. I like the laying down concept, I do that well. I tried before, years ago, without much camo and it no worky.

With the drought situation, this may be "the" plan, the only plan.

Looks like another fun trip up north Anat., ya'll have way too much fun gettin' 'em in that close.

Typically not, but I would hunt a dry field (in MS) if that's where the ducks were.

Those photos were taken in Saskatchewan, on Halloween morning.
