A hunting buddy of mine died recently, and his wife wants to sell his gun collection. I have offered to help. I have tried to find a values online, but am getting nowhere. If possible, she would like to sell them as a collection, but needs to know she is getting a fair price for them. She is trying to avoid packing them all up and taking them to a dealer for appraissal, as you can imagine.

Here is a list:
-Remington 700 .243 w/Simmons Kwik scope
-Remington Woods Master 742 30.06
-Remington 1187 Super Mag 12g (black finish)
-Remington 1187 12g
-Remington 700 .300 magnum w/Tasco scope
-Remington Speedmaster Model 552 .22 cal
-Winchester 94 .357 lever action
-Ruger .22 long rifle
-Springfield .410
-Mossberg .22 long rifle
-Winchester 12 gauge pump (home-camo job)
-Smith & Wesson Airweight .38 (hammerless revolver)
-Keltec 9mm Luger
-Taurus .38 Special

All should be considered in very good to excellent shape (he took great pride in his firearms) except for the Winchester 12, which is in good shape.
I could arrange to bring them to a serious buyer.

Anyone with a price guide? Any help would be appreciated.

Wal-Mart sells a gun appraisal book.

I have a copy that is about 3 months old at my house. I'd be more than happy to gather the information and send it to you via PM if you can wait a couple days. I'd probably do it over the weekend. I could even put it all in an excel spreadsheet and email it. PM me your email address. I don't think any of the prices would include a scope though. So it would give you something to start for the firearm only.

online, I'd try http://www.gunsamerica.com or http://www.gunauctions.com and try and search the model on the site and see what the listings are going for. Take 2 or 3 prices and average them out to get your price.

If you know of a trust worthy gun shop that would do consignment for a fee.

I think this is the exact book I have, just in a hardcopy.

I have been getting several pm's regarding a price for the set. Also, several inquires about specific guns. I am trying to help her determine a price for all. I have explained to her she will not get as much money for them as a collection as she would selling them seperately, but she doesn't want to deal with having people come to her house, and my schedule prohibits me from doing the same.

I went to her house last night and held each gun. I think I should revise my previous statement and say most are in "good" condition, except for the Winchester Ranger 12g and the Springfiled 994 .410. The stock on both are worn and both could use a re-blueing. The only ones I would consider "excellent" are the Rem 700 .300 mag and the Rem 742 WM 30.06. The rest are in general "good" used condition. The Rem 552 SpeedMaster has no clip or magazine slide, but is in good condition.

She is also giving her brother the .243. I had the most inquires about this gun. Sorry.

Here is a revised list on those without a model number.

-Winchester 94 AE .357 lever action
-Springfiled 994 3" .410
-Mossberg .22 452K (really old gun in good condition)
-Winchester Ranger 140 12 g auto

If anyone knows of a dealer that would make her an offer, we would appreciate it.

Update...After many inquiries about individual guns, and no reasonable offers for the collection, she has decided to sell them individually.

Gone are: Rem 700 .243
Rem 742 30.06
Rem 1187 Super Mag
Ruger 10/22 carbine
Mossberg 452 .22
Springfiled .410
Keltec 9mm luger

She is considering keeping the SW Airwieght for personal protection. I have listed the others in the classifieds and will respond to PM's regarding what is left. Thanks
