decoy protection

decoy protection

what kind of clear coat can you spray on your decoys to help protect them. spent alot of money on decoys this year and dont want them to get messed up. got some good ones and dont want them getting screwed up transporting them

Put a condon on them.

You might want to watch it clear coating them. If I did I would put a satin finish on them to keep glare down. You don't want them bad boys shining like a brothas cutlass on a sat night.

i was thinking of some sort of matte/flat finish clearcoat. i figured that gloss clearcoat would have a glare.

I would think it would be fine, I think in the clear coating it's a satin finish. I didn't really listen much when I worked at sherwin williams. :lol:

i didnt know that, i wasnt saying there wasnt a satin finish, thought it was called gloss

one other cool tip, go to your local hobby store and get some spray on green glitter. spray it on the mallards heads and then clear coat em. makes it look like that drake just stuck his head in the water and it is shining for all the world to see, makes a good bit of difference.
