Decision '08 ??

Postby fireplug » Thu Oct 18, 2007 9:10 am

Is anyone out there as tired as I am at having to choose from the lesser of two evils for the president of the wealthiest nation in the world? :? I mean really, we the little people are left with having to pick from Rudy Guliani (sp?) or Hillary Clinton for president. THis has to be the worst presidential election choices I've ever seen. Also, why is the media building up Guliani as the best choice. Running a city as a mayor does not give you experience at hadling legistlation or running a defense policy, or anything else related to being a president. This is just crazy to me. What are your opinions? Who do you want, of the choices, as your president for next 4 years?

I think it is too early to make any predictions as who will be the nominees from each party.. To be Honest I think Rudy will fade and it will be Romney and Thompson from the GOP and that will be the GOP ticket in 08.

Fred is not the answer either. I thought he might be but after researching him, he really has no clue about some major issues and frequently answers, or attempts to, answer questions further illustrating his lack of knowledge. I really don't think he is that intelligent and I am tired of having a President that is not overly intelligent.

Guilliani is simply running on fame from 9-11 and Romney cannot win the south and thus the election because he is a Mormon.

There really is no choice.

The Republican party apparently learned nothing from the loss of Congress.

It is a sad state of affairs when close to 50% of the US population believes that Clinton or Obama are suitable choices for President. :x

I know it's early, but as we all know, the media is who will pick the canidates for the '08 election. They are the ones that put the spotlight on the candidates and create all the hype and the people that are not very informed will listen to just about what ever they tell them.

For the most part, I agree with you. But then, wasn't Teddy Roosevelt a former mayor of New York City?
Nobody owes you anything.

You hit the nail on the head. If any of the democrats win the election, I'm going to seriously think about moving to Canada. Won't take but a couple years for the democratic house, senate, and white house to turn the US into Canada anyway. Might as well go up there and get an early start on possibly some good duck hunting.

And Jack'sbuddy, it's a completely different time and place than it was when TR was president. Not sure if your statement is correct or not, but if it is, again, it's a different country with different ideals.

fred. not only do i agree on his stances on issues but we dont need another political big whig. we need someone who is more like the people he represents.. he is the closest to that in my opinion..

also.. ANOTHER reason i dont want hillary in the white house is if she is elected then that will mean two families will have controled the united states for over twenty years.... too much of a dictatorship for me.

I saw a t shirt in Tuscaloosa during some of Alabama's bad years ( may still be there) with a picture of Bear Bryant with the phrase "Dig Him Up" under it. We Republicans need the same thing with Reagan's picture on it.

I agree with that statment.. But I will say this.. If it has to be a democrat in office (Lord help us).. I would much prefer Hillary than Obama.. At least she has some idea of the Terrorist threats that are facing the country and maybe this time Old Bill will hit his target.. Pardon the pun..

I would like to see Edwards get it. If he does not get the Dem nomination then I don't want another Dem running to get it. I would have to say Rudy on the Rep side. If it was b/t Edwards and Rudy I can't say right now who I would choose.

In my opinion we are in for a rough next 4 to 8 years who ever wins. It would be a complete disaster for the American people if any of the democrats win. I'm not a republican by the way, I am an Indp. but the
choices we have from the democrat side are....... well lets say that crack head comes to mind when I think of them.
They are so far out of touch with the majority of America that I can't understand the numbers they are getting. I think that they are getting the numbers because the people have either given up, or are completly ignorant of who or what they are supporting.

I agree with fireplug - all the candidates are "lacking" ............
Some are lacking brains, some are lacking looks, and most are lacking manners..........

If I would have fought in WWII, I would be pissed right now..............
All the effort and lives lost, for this???

High oil and insurance.....
Retiring soon??? good luck........
want a job???? move to Mexico, China, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Japan, or Indonesia
Highest divorce rate in the world, also the most amount of pornography, and the highest crime rates.

America...........a good thing going bad.......but still better than most everywhere else.............
