MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC LAKE HUNTING

Postby BUBBA SMITH » Sat Oct 13, 2007 2:14 pm

Men i'm going to try duck hunting for the first time this year. my friend and i are gearing up. we are considering hunting off of the mississippi river. i have a large flat boat. the question i have is are there any public lakes like lake washington, lee lake, eagle lake, chortard, or any other oxbows off the river that public hunting is allowed on the lake??? lake washington would be great beacuse i bow hunt panther swamp and yazoo. and when i do we park the camper at lake washington. any advised will be appreacated. those cypress trees in the north end of lake washington look like somthing out of a duck magizine.

If you are hunting the trees on any of those lakes, you will be trespassing. Those tickets are high also. My advice is to stay on leased land or the wildlife refuges.

Duck hunting is so dumb, I'd stick to deer. Think about it, do you really want to go through all that work for a little 'ol duck.

If that is a serious question I would present it to a game warden not a message board. If you are just trying to stir the pot and see the response you get, I'm sure there will be plenty of smartazz comments. Legal question= game warden.

If the water is public, it's public, no matter if you are fishing, skiing, hand-grabbling, duck hunting or bird watching.

I've recently had an encounter with a 75 year old woman who is trying to make me believe a certain oxbow is public fishing, but not public hunting.

See sticky in general discussion forum about public water.
