Oh how I was wanting to find something wrong with the bum this morning, but he appeared as clean as a whistle.

Well...you coulda had me. I just happened to look at my license, purchased on 6/23/07. It expired on 6/30/07....the agent sent me an 07/08 duck stamp and an 06/07 hunting license. I were a sittin' duck!
I ordered over the phone and I could tell that the female "agent" wasn't really in the know but trusted common sense to previal when I said I wanted to buy a license for the upcoming waterfowl season this fall. If I hadn't seen all the posts about the problems getting a license for the dove opener I am sure I would never have checked. I hunt in an area that the Wingman covers and sure am glad to be able to avoid a couple of lost hunting days trying to straighten this out in a court or magistrates office.

Wingman, I'm confused. I bought my liscense a couple of weeks ago at Wal-Mart. It printed out on this orange form, but they did not go through the HIP survey with me. I'm I legal or not!! If I'm not what do I need to do to get legal. Thanks

You need to go back and take the HIP survey.
Don't trust the license agent to ask you if you want HIP. They are supposed to, but sometimes they don't because it's quicker to just skip it.
Ask for the HIP survey just like you ask for the duck stamp, WMA permit, etc.

well yulp...got to meet da man thats rite "infamous-wingman" 
saw him from a mile away checken folks and talking on da phone wasnt no writing me a ticket cause i wuz legal az can be 
when he came by it was only after him leaving i took my plug back out and den started on my second limit of doves ha..ha! then even managed to scrap out me a teal limit too always an honor to meet a fellow msducker thanks fer all your hard wurk there rob you ought to be bought 10 pounds lighter after all that walking you did
