What are your Opinions please on these areas during the week?

not too bad....not too bad, and not too bad

Last year it was terrible, all the time. But lots of places were.

They were terrible last year but like said most everywhere was. We tried the Panther last year while out there and boat is not the way to go there, you need a four wheeler or plan on walking alot.

doubt you'll get much feedback from anyone with that question.

Seriously - not trying to be a smarty here but those holes are sacred to the local boys and that out o state tag aint gonna get you much info. I will tell you this. I have hunted some of those places for many years and the time of week seems to matter more to the duck hunter than the duck. I have been in there on a Wednesday many a day and hour for hour didn't have any better luck than on the weekend. In fact, it was probably worse because the ducks will start rafting up without pressure and I don't care how good of a caller you are or how good your spread looks...the odds are that you will not come out on top when you are competing with live ducks.

These guys are right. And, you have the right approach by not asking for specific info. All of those places get a lot of pressure at any time, especially the weekends. They can have good numbers one day and be empty the next. The only way for us out of staters to do this right is to put in the time and go there and put in the work to know these places, act ethically, and respect the resources and each other. Sounds like you have been doing just that. It is hard to make your plans for a trip to any one place in the delta because the numbers in any given place are so weather and pressure dependent. The best chance is to hook up with some locals there, build a relationship built on trust and sportmanship, and count on them to help you plan the "where" to hunt each year. The advice to connect with Wingman or Delta Duck (even if he does root for the Rebels) is very good. They have consistent places and right good fellers to know. I'm glad I still have kin back home to help me or I would be in the same place you are. Be good to those folks back in MS when you go; they treat you right if you are good people, too.

During the week is the best time to go to Panther. You can access the levee road from above Yazoo City or either form the south end. During the week, hardly anyone hunts there so you can usually ride the levee road and find where ducks are working the fields. Just park a little ways down and go out in the field and find you a little ditch or some type of cover and call em in. dont shoot if they get up on your way in and they will come back. Good Luck.

Meeka, you sure you're doing the right thing here?

To my knowledge there are no fields open to hunting on Panther. I grew up hunting there and can attest to the crowding. But for those who are willing to hunt mid week and work thier @%# off you can get back into some good shooting.
DO NOT go in there deep without a compass or GPS, lost in that place is a BAD thing.

I hunt these locations. Have for years. I also hunt private leases in this area. We had some big problems with smart booty Georgia boys last year and I doubt they will be back. Like crow said, be a good guy, spend the time and money it takes to learn something, and good thinks will come your way. Public hunting is tuff, and getting tougher....

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT NOW,BUT DURING TURKEY SEASON PANTHER SWAMP'S GOT SOME OF THE BIGGEST COTTONMOUTHS AROUND AND ONE IN EVERY HOLE OF WATER. IF THE WEATHER DON'T COOL OFF YOU MIGHT SPEND AS MUCH TIME LOOKING DOWN AS YOU DO LOOKIN' FER DUCKS.

One more piece of free advice, it would be best to get a permit and read the brochure, VERY CAREFULLY. Hint, hint.
