SBE II and light dove loads.....any problems

1 oz and above and you will have no problems.

You should have no problems with 7/8 oz since the SBE II's come stock with the sure cycle system now.

No problems with any shells I've ever shot, down to 7/8 oz.

1 oz will work fine. You might have a couple 7/8 oz hang up on you once your gun gets dirty and the action isn't quite as smooth.

i just bought it this summer i do alot of timber hunting i shot estate #3's last year and was pleased with them in my 870 how much that choke cost and where can i find it....

If you mostly timber hunt I would just use an imp cyl choke. Aftermarket chokes like Patternmasters make a big difference on the longer shots in the 30-50yard range. They sell them at several hunting stores. I'm sure Hunter's Hollow would have them. I'm not really familiar with hunting store in the Winona area. They have them at Sportsman's Warehouse in Southaven and Memphis. You could also get one off the internet. I'm not sure if ebay still has them now that they have enacted the ultra liberal policies regarding guns. Just make sure you get the one for the one for the SBE II. I have the Primos 2 pack dead zone waterfowl chokes that I never opened that I paid $70 for that I would sell for a lot less if you are interested. One of them is for pass shooting (longer shots) and one for decoying (closer shots/timber). I also have their Jelly Head turkey choke tube that is unopened.

I shoot an SBE I but most of this will apply. I agree with the others you should be OK with 1oz and above. The other thing to look for is velocity. As long as what I'm shooting is advertized for 1250fps and above I have no issues. I've never had an issue with Estate dove loads 1 1/8oz at 1250 fps and the Remington loads 1 1/8oz at 1290 fps. Both loads can be bought for under $4.50 a box.

In the timber I will shoot IC or even SK, but most of the time I shoot LMOD as I hunt more open areas. I have been using SRM's Terror .700 choke for several years it patterns better than anything else I've tried. Don't let the .700 part fool you, it shoots the same pattern percentages as a LMOD, just with more even patterns. If you don't want to outlay a lot of cash pickup a Briley or Trulock LMOD for $30 and you should be good to go out to 40-45 yds. With the SBEII you'll have the longer crio choke tubes. I'd pattern them first and see what they look like before spending money on something you don't need.

Benelli's tend to pattern 1's and 3's better than 2's. #3's will kill birds dead to 40 yds with no issues. Also with 3's you don't have to rely on a tight choke to keep dense enough patterns at 40yds.

I've shot Kents, Estates and Federal. In my gun, Kents tend to have holes in the patterns. Very uneven and inconsistant. I won't shoot them anymore. Federal and Estates both pattern very well for me. Estate is owned by ATK(Federal) so the Estates and the Federal Speedshoks are basically the same thing. The Federal Ultrashoks have plated shot and are supposed to have better waterproofing, but they're kind of spendy. The one advantage to Ultrashoks is that if you shoot 3.5" shell the make a 1-1/2 oz shell at 1500 fps. Most brands only offer 1-3/8oz at that speed.
