Duck Call
Duck Call
I am trying to find out which calls are best for beginners. Also want to know best way to teach or learn maybe a video you guys used with specific calls. Any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

ok... first off dont start out learning to blow a call with a double reed. yes they are eaiser to blow but a single reed, once you can run it, is so much better than a double reed.
i would get a RNT hunter call. it comes with an instructional cd.
and yes you do need to get a tape or with a more experienced person to learn how to blow the basic calls and develop your foundation. after that is when you go to a refuge or the park
but my best advice is start with a single reed

There are a lot of inexpensive calls these days that are easy to blow and therefore great for beginners.
I recommend the Buck Gardner Double Nasty call and his instructional CD. I take mine in the truck as it is not allowed around the house much.
I have tried many, but find this double reed really does have the duck built in as advertised and is very easy to get real duck sounds from it.
You can listen to this call on their website like most all makers have these days.
Also, DU as a link to hear the basic duck sounds.
