Public Hunting??

Postby kc86 » Tue May 08, 2007 2:51 pm

Hey guys I am getting into duck hunting into the delta. The past year was not that great due to the locations avaliable to me. I was wondering if any one knows of any good public hunting in the Mississippi or Mississippi Arkansas line? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

First off, welcome to the board. :D

Secondly, I hope you've got a flack jacket cuz you are gonna need it.

Public hunting info is at a premium these days, and I honestly doubt you'll get any "helpful" info.

Welcome aboard! You won't get any honey holes from the folks on this site. Better make some friends first and get them to take you along.

Hi KC.

You might try posting a little about yourself (job, family, etc). Maybe someone knows you, or knows someone else who knows you, who can help you out. Its all about the "connection" here in Mississippi.

Good luck.

Welcome aboard. We all went through this, so it's kind of an initiation. Look on the mdwfp.com site, buy a Mississippi atlas & gazettteer, and do a little leg work. It will all pay off. And if you can't find anything that way, just give up cause you've gotta be a tard.

MS. Hunting

Postby kc86 » Thu May 10, 2007 1:55 pm

Yea I luckily kept a few of my leases in Arkansa and a couple in Mississippi. I have heard there is good public hunting around also though. Guess I will have to get out and do some leg work and see what is out there.

I truly don't mean this in a bad way but if you have leases in MS and AR why in the world would you hunt public land especially in MS. I hunt nothing but public land and I am here to tell you that it is tuff and very crowded. If I could afford a lease, I would hunt public land very little. Again, I am not trying to di#k but just telling you what I experience every duck season.
