RR forage soybean

If anyone is looking for a Roundup Ready MG VII soybean developed as a forage soybean for deer plots let me know. Side by side they look like normal RR soybeans until flowering. At that point, they continue to grow and put on biomass through the first couple of frosts. I am also working on a Roundup Ready viny type like Quail Haven.

SWAG,
It has Glycine Soja as one of the parents which is very similar to Quail Haven. As you know, Soja is the wild type of soybean that is viny.

Scott Baker with Specialty Seeds in Brandon can fix you up on the price. The RR soybean seed out there today is mainly maturity group 4 and 5 for field production. The earlier the number, the earlier the leaves will fall off and the plant matures. If you plant the later maturity group 7, it will retain the leaves and produce pods up until frost. The two RR forage soybeans we developed are Large Lad and Big Fellow. These are forage soybeans with the roundup ready gene owned by Monsanto. The other difference in these compared to other late season soybeans such as a 6 or 7, is the increase in height and plant biomass they produce. Another advantage to these soybeans is with their ability to remain standing even at extreme height.

Few dollars higher than other Roundup Ready varieties, but you are getting nearly twice the plant for forage.
