catching GAR?
anybody fish for em me and a buddy were up a river and there must of been athousand hitting or rolling on top of the water i did not see any sign of food they were hiiting, so my question is why are they on the surface and also how can i catch them , i tried the ol nylon rope thing
ive heard cut bait? iv killed plenty with a bow but want to catchem when things are slow

We catch them in saltwater using cut bait (mullet) and a steel leader on a Abu Garcia 7000 with a heavy duty rod.
Gar meat is great to eat. Peel the meet off and make patties with the meat.
