Name for new camo design
Name for new camo design
Guys,
I am almost 'there' with a new camo design for duck hunters. I know it will probably never be nearly as popular as Mossy Oak or RealTree, but I do believe there will some people that like it. I am looking for a name for it. It is designed mainly for timber 'duck' hunters, but can be used for deer and turkey hunting as well.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Skywalker

You probably want a hunting neutral name. Something that doesn't make people specifically think duck or deer hunting. You would hate to loose part of you market b/c a deer hunter thought it was duckin camo.
Big Timber
Deepwoods
Shadowlands
Shadowoods
Delta
Delta Timber
Ghostwood / Ghost Timber
Mirage
Phantom Timber
Hole in the Wind Camo

Phantom Timber sounds catchy and could be a good "combo" type camo name.

If you name it to close to something that singles it out for duckhunting you are cutting yourself out of the other markets. IE "Duck Hole Camo" Is not going to interest a Turkey Hunter, and "Fowl Gear" might get a Deer hunters attention considering the Fowl could also go for weather but the Turkey hunter is not going to go for it as most of their hunting is done in good weather.
I would recommend that you lean towards something that will describe the actual pattern vs the type of hunting that you are wanting to do with it. Breaking into the outdoor market is hard enough as is, why limit your audience right off the bat>><><><>
Also check out the copyrighted names before you name it, there are a lot out there that are not on the market but some one owns the copyright too. When you check the CR it has to be specifically for a line of clothing if that is what you are doing or specifically for a camo pattern. Example, If you chose " Timber Ghost" and you find that there is a Timber Ghost out there but it is a treestand then your OK but if it is an appearel line then start looking for another name.
Good luck,
