Me and the wife both have poison ivy. This is her first time to ever have it. She has been scratching it all day thinking it was a flea bite. LOL. I did my best not to laugh when she showed me her bad flea bite. I have a feeling she is gonna have a bad day tomorrow. :D --Ace

Me and my wife had it a few weeks back, my fault of course...Lesson number one: If she aint happy you aint happy!

good luck

Put you a half cup of bleach in a bath tub, fill rest of way with water let soak...it will either make it better, or worse.

I'm not allergic to it but my wife is...
We've found that if she doesn't touch my dirty hunting clothes- I wash them in hot H2O- she dosen't get poison ivy unless she's been digging in her flower beds

Zanfel works great but it is expensive. it runs about $37 for a 2oz. I would find a product called Buji that has all the ingredients as Zanfel and works just as good but is half the cost. YOu could also get a bottel of Tecnu Scrub and rub down with it and wash it off to pull all of the oils out of your skin. Hope this helps

That stuff didn't work for me at all. I go immediately and get the cortizone shot! Soaking in a much diluted mix of bleach and water will work too (1 part bleach 9 parts water), it'll dry it up!

I got it bad the opening day of dove season this year. I tried just about everything. It took two cortisone shots, a bottle of Zanfel, and about six weeks to get rid of it. I think the Zanfel is worth the $37.

Three words. "Get the shot." I get it so bad that even with the shot, I still itch some - just not as bad as when I use anything/everything else. Benadril gel helps, but just a little. That's why I strongly advise getting the shot.

I am not kidding when I say this. Some oldtimers swear by kereosen. It washes away the "oils" like those other products d. Also, a Doc told me to get oderlass mineral spirits at home depot and wash it off after suspected contact. Ask 'ol Big wawa what he did when he got it on his ball sack last year!

Where do I go and what do I ask for?

Go to your doctor, tell them that you have poison ivy, and ask for a chortazone shot. Pronounced Kor'-ta-zone. Hope you get over it quick.

Preventative or relief?
