A must for Duck Hunters!!

Postby Delta Duck » Mon Aug 19, 2002 8:50 pm

Just got through looking at the new Woods and Wetlands and the Cabelas Waterfowl 2002 magazines.

I noticed there are 9 types of robo ducks on the market. Also saw the mojo dove. I guess I need to leave West Dundee more often.

I also noticed the Speedo Duck @ only $179.99 with no batteries or electronics, this manually operated, spinning~wing decoy is a dependable addition to yo spread. The 30' drive cable and specially designed drive unit lets you control the wings from yo blind. GC and the Duckmen have ordered a couple of these for sure.

And of course on page 57 everyone needs the Cabela's Waterfowl Pontoon Boat. 5x10 with all the accessories a mere $4300. Think I'll take 2.

I noticed both those magazines have about 3 pages of various duck calls, too! Gee......what WERE they thinkin'?

My favorite 'hot new item' this year is that 'Breakup-clad' pontoon boat. Man, can you imagine that thing with a pop-up blind?......'d have to call it the '4-Bubba' blind'. 'Bet you could make that baby blend-in.

Maybe when I'm 60, I'll get one of those things and devise a mechanism that automatically picks-up your decoys, winds the cords up and stacks'em on the floor as I drive thru the spread. ('course it would have to distiguish decoys from stumps......or dogs.....wouldn't want the thing to get ahold of 'Phideaux' and wrap his tail around his head 15 times by mistake.)

You'd have to log about 2 acres of cedar trees to 'brush' that thing with, too. Oh, yeah......don't forget the gas grill that mounts to the railing (every 'old fart' has to have his gas grill, handy).......and a generator......for the T.V. set. Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't include those as accessories for this duck 'barge'. Poor marketing, I guess.

I'll take one with dual 30HP 'Go-devils' for shallow-water access.

Nah. I don't need that gimmick crap. I know Duckmen doesn't, either. I will take one of those snazzy dog kennels though, since you are buying.
So many ducks, so little time....

You gotta be careful using that gas grill around the dry cedar brush, but hey...who ever said duck hunting wasn't challenging?

Whatever happened to loading up your gun, dog, and a friend and taking off to the woods.

Damn a Mojo this, a pop up that, a "handy" this, a "2 in 1" this, that, the other, gadget, mechanism, camoflauge cell phone toter, bullcrap booty, useless product, cluttering up magazines and store isles placed there soley for your "less educated, wanna-be sportsmans" who always seem to be doing nothing more than f**king up a TRUE hunters premeditated/hardcore hunt......showing up late with all their gadgets and what not, putting all that junk out while the sun is rising and everyone else in the woods is shooting.....THOSE STUPID PRODUCTS DO NOTHING MORE THAN ADD TO LAST YEARS TALLY OF IDIOTIC, UNCURTIOUS, KNOW-NOTHING WANNA BE HUNTERS! Anyway, this may be overkill, but these thoughts are what come to mind everytime I see some of these silly products being offered.

Dutch Dog, I speak for us all! Without fundamentals all the gadgets in the world won't add photos to an album. The people who invest time looking for this ridiculous stuff aren't appreciative of the woods and how they work and, in my opinion, should stay at home rather than stumbling up on me with a load of bulls**t while I am trying to enjoy a hunt. Anyway, this is my final comment on the matter.....
