DELTA AREA FARMERS/LANDOWNERS MEETING NEXT WEEK-

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
You are cordially invited to attend an “Understanding the 2002 Farm Bill†meeting at 10 A.M. on Monday, August 26th, 2002 at the Clarksdale Expo Center, Clarksdale, Mississippi. All area farmers are invited to come, listen and learn. The U.S.D.A. staff in Mississippi has recently completed their first official training and instructions on the new Farm Bill and is eager to share the new information.
Dr. Lester Spell, Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Brent Orr, C.E.D. Tunica County USDA/FSA will deliver messages and information. In addition, Oby Easley, C.E.D. Coahoma County USDA/FSA, Blake McGaughy, C.E.D. Bolivar County USDA/FSA and Joe Boyd, C.E.D. Quitman County USDA/FSA, Kimbal Billingsley, CED, Panola County FSA, Terry Myers, DC, Panola County NRCS along with other NRCS staff will be on hand, as well as, MSU Extension Service Staff to assist and field questions as it pertains to particular needs.
Mississippi Ducks Unlimited, your host of this meeting, will serve a Mississippi catfish lunch following the speakers. Ken Babcock, Director of Operations, Southern Regional Office of Ducks Unlimited, and other DU conservation staff will also be on hand to answer questions regarding the Partners Program, conservation easements, and the Wetland Reserve Program here in Mississippi.
