Stoeger 2000

Postby Bates » Tue Dec 12, 2006 9:02 pm

Looking fo a backup gun and came accross a Stoeger 2000 for cheap $300 ducks, any opinions on this gun? Looks like Bennelli owns them and uses a version of their inertia operated eject/reload mechanism. Tell me what you think of this gun.

Do a search. We've talked about this one before. I was considering this gun at one point.

Got one and no complaints. Had an ejection pin shear and that is the only problem. Light and handles as close to the benelli as you could ask. 300 is a steal. From dove loads to duck loads it is great. It doesn't shoot 3 1/2 in shells though if you wanted to. Only 3in.

If you're looking for a great auto at a decent price, look at the Remington Spartan 453. I've shot every load from dove to 3 1/2 without a single hiccup. It handles and swings well,a nd for the price it can't be beat.

My nephew has one and loves it. I have a Stoeger O/U and never had a problem. Recoil is a little heavy on the 3000.
