I have heard all the hear say about what causes head aches such as lack of sleep, bad vision, stress, and so on and so on. My question is this (1)What really causes head aches? What is really going on in our heads during a head ache? What can we do to prevent head aches?

The brain gets used to the constricted blood flow. When you get vasodilation the brain get more oxygen and it is essentially a reperfusion injury. Free radicals and the whole bit.
Other reasons for head aches include sinus pressure, medication side effects, visual strain, neck or spine injuries or misalignments or deformities, nasal septal osteophytes, result from trauma, vasculitis ect. Head ache is really a trash can term.

Same here. Suckers just sneak up on me at work in the middle of the day usually while I'm just piddlin' around msducks. Sometimes they're so bad it feels like a railroad spike being driven through an eye socket or so I think. I'm taking ole chuckles advice pretty soon to just go a see a doctor and try to figure out what's causing it. Wish I knew now. About passed out while hunting Friday because a headache hit me so hard.

Aren't you suppose to see a doctor if that lasts more than 4 hours???
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I would, especially if unrelieved by tylenol/motrin or accompanied by nausea/vomiting, dizziness, lethargy, vision changes. In fact, i wouldn't wait at all if any of those symptoms occurred with it, because if it's an intracranial hemorrhage/aneurysm, your only chance is to catch it early and get neurosurgery before too much damage is done.
you did put in the plug, right?
