Muzzleloader

I've hunted all my life, but never fooled much with Muzzleloaders.....I'm now in the market for won. I don't need the latest greatest, but want something nice. My understanding is that some muzzleloaders now have a range of 150 yards? Ease of loading and unloading............talk to me....suggestions on what to get...plusses and minuses....

look into the CVA optima, great gun at a really good price. it is accurate and easy to clean.

I bought a CVA Optima Pro last year. 50 cal....synthetic stock. I put a Nikon Pro staff 3-9x40 on it. I wouldn't hesitate a second shooting a deer at 150 yards. It is easy to clean and a blast to shoot. Best of all it only cost me $180 (without scope). The only negative is the weight....that thing is pretty heavy.

Overall it was cheap, easy to clean, fun to shoot, and real accurate....what else do you need?

What type bullet are yall shooting and how much powder? I have one also and am having trouble sighting it in.

i have a knight wolverine.....that little gun shoots like a 30-30.....it's a 50 cal rifle, but ai shoot a 45 cal with a plastic jacket on it....I haven't gone with a scope yet....have an aimpoint...

Handi rifle 45-70. LIght. Excellent iron sights right out of the box. But unfortunately Light=kicks like a branded mule.

I am shooting T/C 250 grain Shockwaves and 150 grains of 777 powder. I was really suprised how accurate my optima turned out to be. I would feel real comfortable shooting a deer at 150 yards.
