when would it be to late for wheat

my boss told me today that it would be to late to plant the wheat because the deer would eat it before it matures. and how many bls per acre do i need to put out i want to plant about half the size of a fish pond and i dont think i have enough wheat

its not too late to plant.. you til dec. 1... i would plant atleast 100# per acre ideal is 120# per acre... then when it comes up fertilize with 200# of 13-13-13 per acre...
