muzzleloader scope

Postby crowder critter » Wed Nov 15, 2006 7:45 am

i am going to buy my son a muzzleloader for xmas, what is a good scope that I can get for under $100? I dont want to put anything expensive on it, but I dont want to put a piece of crap on there either. Some one told me that a Tasco World Class is a good scope for the money, but i have never had one. Any suggestions?

Look at a "SWIFT" Vans here in Rankin County sales them.

They have a lifetime warrenty, you can crush it and bring it back and they will replace it.

I had a world class and it was a POS. My dad got it put on a rifle for me because he said " I bought you a rifle now you can get a good scope" He just wanted to let me be able to shoot it. It was on for maybe a month and a half and the seals leaked and started fogging. Just my opinion

I picked up a Bushnell at Wally World for my CVA, around $50-$60. Its a 4x9 kit for muzzeloaders and came with all required hardware. Shoots good too. Ive heard stories of rifle scopes getting broke by M/L recoil

I have a WC and a Swift never had a problem with either. Swift does have a over the counter warranty. Bought mine at Hadads and they said if you ever have a problem with it just bring it back and they will swap it out. Its still on after 3 years.

Plese take a idots advise and buy a scope designed for a shotgun or m/l.I have shot one for yrs and finally had it happen.I took a shot from a unstable stance and broke the old nose! The eye relief was not good enough.Friend shoots a tasco on his blackdiamond and it does good.

There's a guy who has a Nikon Buckmaster for sale on the MDWFP forum for $125. Though all of my other scopes are Leupolds, I bought a Buckmaster for my CVA Kodiak and I am impressed with it. It is very clear and the eye relief is fine for a M/L.

put an AIMPOINIT on it.....don't have to get your eye as close as you do with a scope....just put the red dot on the target....no magnification

I put a Simmons Aetec 3-10 on mine cause it was one of the few in my price range that was silver and had the rubber eye guard. It has done good for me. Shot my muzzle loader the other day to make sure it's still on and it's right where I set it 2 years ago.
