Have yall ever had any problems out of them and some helpful tips with it

My advise is if you know some people that duck hunt that you dont like.
Drive out to their blind and lay that shotgun on the seat, then run and dont look back......

No short pumping with 3.5 shells - they'll jam, but once you get used to the extended pump it is no big deal.

Also, as was said, evaluate the pattern before hitting the field. I've had two barrels for my Nova and they've both patterned completely different.

Stock length - Long stock on this gun so be ready to change your shouldering technique if you're used to shooting an 870. For me this meant much more lead than I'd ever used before. I have to clear the barrel in front of the bird instead of on the head like an 870...

Once you get used to these details, this is a great waterfowl gun due to dependable shooting and ease to clean - simplicity. You won't find a gun that comes apart or goes back together easier or more quickly. Toss it overboard, fish it out, and shoot it - it'll still kill a duck!

Oh yeah, the stock modified choke is a pretty tight pattern, so you may not want a duck choke if you've used it before. Your call...

That gun is as tuff as they come. I have used mine to break ice, as a push pole and have laid down in mud with it and I just dip it in some water and keep on going. I have tried to be extra ruff on it to see how it will hold up and I have no complaints yet. 4 yrs. and counting.

Get yourself an 870, Benelli cost a ton more and the 870 can't be torn up!! I've come accross a good many people that take 2 guns to hunting with them, one being an 870. They always say the 870 is my backup in case the other messes up. WHY, JUST USE THE 870!!

Well any gun I can pick up(right out of the box) and shake and hear it rattle I stay away from. That being said go buy a BPS

He's a good kid thats going to love his Nova...TRUST ME. Be sure ta pattern that puppy first. My thickest part of pattern is a little low and right. I keep this in mind as Im judging leads, and again, DONT OVER LUBE after cleaning all that packing grease out. That thing is goin ta kick like a mule and kill em dead brotha. I like 3.5" cheapo Winchesters outta mine with a modified choke for dux. He saw me shoot 19 outta 20 skeet one fine day with my Nova. I only missed that 1 because the rattling forearm distracted me

That is a strong, smooth operating gun. Nearly indestructible. As far as patterning: get in the right spot, bring the birds to the decoys and point and click.

Haven't touched mine much since buying the M1; saving it for my boy to grow into.

I love my Nova, Its a tough gun...
